Mites Development Team
WAHA makes an effort every season to create an 8U Mites Development Team program (8U Devo) every season with the goal to prepare some our advanced Mites players to learn skills and possibly prepare them for the 10U Rep level of our hockey program.
The program is optional for 8U Mites House players and is dependent on the number of participants who register and commit to the Mites Development Team. If we do not get enough participants, there could be a year we do not run our Mites Development Team.
Ages
Players must be in the 8U age bracket for the season.
For 2026-2027, the birth years are:
2018-2020
When
The 8U Devo program usually starts up right after the House League season begins. The dates and locations for the tournaments will vary year to year and be up to the head coach.
Where
Practices will take place at Town Toyota Center. Tournaments will be away tournaments and locations will vary year to year depending on what other associations are offering in any particular season.
Practices
Practices will occur as ice time is available. Practices have been on weekends in past seasons, so please be prepared for that possibility.
House League
Players on the 8U Devo team are required to participate in the WAHA 8U House League season.
Jerseys
Players will use their reversible House League jerseys for 8U Devo games.
Extra Costs
Fundraising is a big part of making the Devo program work and there will be extra fundraising requirements to pay for extra tournaments and other season expenses. The 8U Devo team does get their own Chuck-A-Puck night during a Wenatchee Wild home game.
